Hello everyone,
My name is Ramón W. Elizondo I am an immigrant who came from México when I was a kid, twenty-five years ago. I also happen to be the first member of my entire family to go to college. Right after I finished my associates, I continued with my normal life but never thought about coming back to school and settle for more. As of now, I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Journalism at University of Nevada Las Vegas, I hope to achieve my goal by 2021 or before.
The political atmosphere in the past ten years its been very dramatically and outrageous. About four years ago, I sat down and realized that a stronger voice was needed in the media to cover those issues being left out. So I finally concluded to return to school and get prepared to face those who harm not only my communities but, all in general.
I expect to learn how far we can go on covering the media in relation with freedom of the press. I see a lot of news reporters been filtered by news agencies. We are supposed to speak up, not to stay quiet.
